Submitting Mixed Grain Samples for Nutrient Analysis
The following information is not intended to support or reject the use of any
particular lab. However, because the University of Arkansas Agricultural
Services Laboratory emphasizes forage analysis, their services are limited for
by-product and mixed feed estimates of total digestible nutrients (TDN). Because
of this, Arkansas producers need information pertaining to available labs that
can provide this analysis, and the following labs are listed because producers
within the state have used their services in the past.
The TDN equation that each lab uses may be different. The equation developed
by Dr. William P. Weiss at The Ohio State University is commonly used. Contact
the lab to determine how reliable they believe their estimates of TDN will be
for your sample.
