Selected Speakers:
Bruce Olcott, DVM, MS, MBA is a goat and sheep breeder and is an Associate Professor at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. He received his BS from William & Mary in 1974 and his DVM from the University of Georgia in 1978. Dr. Olcott received his Master's degree from Washington State University in 1981 and his MBA from Louisiana State University in 1995. He regularly speaks at goat and sheep conferences across the United States and works with developmental programs in other countries.
Dr. James E. Miller, BS, DVM, MPVM, PhD is a Professor of Veterinary Medicine at LSU and former Acting Head of the previous Department of Epidemiology and Community Health. His current research program includes novel (non-chemical) approaches for protection against nematode infection. His lab is evaluating nematode-trapping fungi, condensed tannins, copper wire boluses and vaccination protocols in conjunction with strategic use of anthelmintics to control worms in goats and sheep.
