Soybean Production in Arkansas
Soybean Variety Yields

SOYVA ProgramVariety Updates • Variety Performance Tests

Choosing the best soybean variety is one of the most critical components of soybean production. The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service provides two methods of selecting a soybean variety. The first is through published updates that show variety yield trials of most all of the major soybean varieties available in Arkansas. Secondly, you can utilize a computer program developed by Extension specialists and updated each year to select the best soybean variety based on your individual field history.

SOYVA Program

SOYVA, an Extension computerized variety selection program, can assist in making these field-specific variety selection decisions. Presently SOYVA sorts through over 100 adapted soybean varieties in Maturity Groups (MG) IV-VII and makes variety recommendations based on responses to specific conditions described by the user. Soybean producers are encouraged to use this publication and SOYVA when selecting varieties for the different production systems. Contact your county Extension agent for details concerning SOYVA. The SOYVA program is available to download free of charge.
