Tests/Applications Record Keeping System
Version 1.5 - November 1999

Soil Amendment Rates Screen  • Water Applications ScreenManure Applications ScreenFertilizer Application ScreenRestricted Use Pesticide Applications Screen

Soil Amendment Rates ScreenSoil Amendment Rates Screen

The Soil Amendment Rates screen has an attached Soil Test record for its Source Test Identification. Since that Test record only contains recommendations for Nitrogen, Phosphate, Potash, and Lime for up to three crop codes, you will have to put the amounts that you actually applied to this field in the Soil Amendment Rates screen itself. It doesn't assume that those recommended amounts were what you actually applied.

Water Applications ScreenWater Applications Screen

The Water Applications Screen has an attached Water Test record for it source Test Identification. The date and number of gallons that you applied from this source for this field is entered into this screen.

Manure Applications ScreenManure Applications Screen

The Manure Applications screen has an attached Manure Test record for its Source Test Identification. Again, the date and amount applied for this field is entered here. This amount will be in tons for dry manure, or in gallons for liquid manure, depending on the consistency given in the Manure Test record.

When the Manure Test sample has been designated as liquid fertilizer, you can see the rate analysis for this sample's nutrients for the specified amount applied to the given acreage by clicking on the Rate Analysis button. They are calculated using the formula: volume applied (gallons) * concentration (lbs/1000 gal, from the source test analysis)/acres/1334.

Fertilizer Applications ScreenFertilizer Applications Screen

The Fertilizer Applications screen does not have an associated Source Test Identifier. Instead, the Product Name and Product Analysis should be entered on this screen to identify the product being applied to this field. The amount applied can be in pound or gallons, which is selected by licking on the units button to the right of the Amount field. This units button changes its text value each time you click on it. If you don't see the units you need, you may have to convert the amount to one of the units listed.

Restricted Use Pesticide Applications ScreenRestricted Use Pesticide Applications

Like the Fertilizer Applications screen, you must also describe the Restricted Use Pesticide you are applying to /in this field on this screen, as well as who is performing this application, what equipment is being used to apply the material, and the time and weather conditions prevalent during this application. The Amount Treated can either be in acres for an application to a field, or in the number of head for applications to livestock. If other than crop is being treated, indicate what is being treated in the Other Than Crop field (such as Cattle). The Total Amount of material used can also be specified in several units, similar to the Fertilizer Applications units.

If you enter the Time in 24-hour military time format, it is converted to 12-hour-based time and the AM/PM button is changed to the appropriate value. If the value you enter is less than 12:59, you will have to click on the AM/PM button to change it appropriately if this application was made in the afternoon.

The Direction for the Wind Speed can be given as one of eight direction abbreviations, those being N (North), NE (Northeast), E (East), SE (SouthEast), S (South), SW (Southwest), W (West), or NW (NorthWest).
