Manure Test ScreenManure Test Screen - Feed

Manure Test ScreenManure Test Screen

The Manure Test screen serves a dual purpose. It is used to store test results for samples used as fertilizer (as shown above), as well as to store test results for samples used as feed (as shown on the next page). When used as fertilizer, only the elements and compounds are entered (those in the left column), but when used as feed, only protein, fiber and nutrient percentages are entered (those in the right column). The measurements units for dry manure are lbs/ton, but liquid measurements are in lbs/1000 gal. These units change depending on the Consistency chosen.

Manure Test Screen - FeedManure Test Screen Feed

The Manure Test screen on this page shows the values entered for manure used as feed (see the Used As radio button above the left column). The previous pages screen showed the values entered for manure used as fertilizer. Note that % Moisture is entered for both uses.

For the feed components, you can enter in first the Moisture or Dry matter percentage and have the program fill in the other one by clicking on the button to the right of the entry that you want it to fill in after you have entered in the first value. You can then enter in Crude Protein, Acid detergent Fiber, and Total Digestible Nutrients on an As Fed basis, then click on the DMB button to the right of those entries to have the program convert those values to Dry Matter basis. Cp, ADF, and TDN should always be stored as Dry Matter basis values. Of course, you can also just enter in those values directly as Dry Matter basis values if you have those results available in that form.
