Water Test ScreenWater Test Screen

Like the Soil Test screen, the Water Test screen also contains a Depth field, but this one is in feet instead of inches. It also contains test results for all or a subset of compounds, and greys those values that are not applicable to those subsets.
When meq/l (milequivalents per liter) is selected, the units given for the salts and ions in the list of compounds tested are changed from ppm (parts per million) to meq/l. Be aware that no numerical conversion takes place where when you change units. You must enter the correct numerical value for the units you have selected.

If you have entered the Hardness in grains per gallon (gr/gal), you can click on the gr/gal button to convert that value to parts per million. This value should always be stored as a ppm value.

When you have entered all the test values, you can see the classifications for many of those values, if this is a Domestic Water sample, by clicking on the Show Results Classifications button. This is the only analysis that is performed by the Farm Management program. Others may be added as their ranges and classifications become known and standardized.

Note how some of the values and their names are greyed in the underlying Water Test screen for this Domestic Water Test Subset. This is an example of what occurs when a Test Subset is chosen.
