Arkansas to host five meetings on 2008 Farm Bill (2:21 minutes)

I’m Robert Coats Extension Economist University of Arkansas Division of
Agriculture.
Arkansas will host five public meetings about the 2008 Farm Bill in November
at Dumas, Brinkley, Morrilton, Jonesboro and Hope.
Topics to be discussed include:
- The direct attribution provisions
- The adjusted gross income provisions
- The payment limitation rules
- The direct and counter cyclical program provisions
- The ACRE program option
- The disaster program
- The noninsured crop disaster assistance program
- The farm storage facility loan program
- The price support programs
- The milk income loss contract program, and
- The conservation program provisions
Each meeting begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to conclude at 3 p.m. There is
no charge to attend. FSA state office Specialists will be conducting the
meetings. The meeting schedule is as follows:
- Nov. 18, DUMAS – Convention Center
- Nov. 19, BRINKLEY – Convention Center
- Nov. 20, MORRILTON – Conway County Fairgrounds, all-purpose
building
- Nov. 24, JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Convocation
Center, banquet hall, lower red entrance
- Nov. 25, HOPE – University of Arkansas Experiment Station.
The meetings are being conducted by the Farm Service Agency, in partnership
with the Cooperative Extension Service, Arkansas Farm Bureau, state Department
of Agriculture, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Small Farm Program
Division, and The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
